Just a quick note to say that I’m still alive and unharmed by Hurricane Irma. Just got back the electricity and internet. Right now its raining pretty heavily and I don’t think its gonna be letting up anytime soon.
My prayers are with all those affected by this monster of a system and I hope that the still to come Hurricane Jose will not affect us to harshly.
If you are interested in seeing the damage done by Hurricane Irma to Antigua and Barbuda, you can go to ABS Television/Radio Facebook page for photos and videos. Barbuda especially got hit hard, 90% of the buildings destroyed and 60% of the island is under water. They have issued a mandatory evacuation for the citizens.
Just a note of caution to anyone willing to contribute to the relief effects in the Caribbean to be aware of fraudulent websites and organisations being established to compete with the real agencies involved in the relief efforts. Please before you let go of your hard earn dollars, contact the Embassy or Consulate for the respective island you wish to contribute to.
